A customer wanted to attach it to a Celestron Advanced VX tripod and the solution we found for him was the Berlebach 11178-GP-3/8 adapter plate. This is necessary to go between the AVX tripod and the AM5 mount. Click here.

Traditional equatorial mounts often require heavy counterweights, making them cumbersome and difficult to balance in RA and DEC directions, also inconvenient for trasportation, storage and assembling, while some newer harmonic drive mounts lack multifunctionality, have insufficient load capacity and suffer from stability issues and cable tangling.

To address these issues, the NEW AM5 Harmonic Mount (2024 Edition) eliminates the need for counterweights, offers high load capacity (15kg without cvounterweights, 20kg with a 5kg counterweight), and combines portability with stability. ZWO's customised strain wave geared reducer ensures precision with accuracy within +/- 10". It can be used as both an equatorial and alt-azimuth mount, with an altitude adjustment range of 0 - 90 degrees.

*Note: The recommended operating voltage for the ZWO Harmonic Equatorial Mount is 12V. When the actual input voltage is below 10.8V, the mount will emit a beeping alarm to indicate under-voltage condition. To ensure proper functioning of the equipment, we recommend using the official ZWO power adapter and an appropriately sized power cable.
