The New Built to Order StellarDrive 6R ULTRA™ (EQ6-R)

We take a new stock EQ6-R and completely re-engineer it. And then some.

This translates into a 0.16-0.3 ArcSec RMS mount with a full 25kg imaging payload, meaning you can go to a 140mm triplet, a 10" f4 Newtonian or 10" SCT.

As an EQ6R, it rewrites all the rules about what a mid-range mount can do. Really? Some question this, but not the owners. There is nothing devisive about how it performs, only about how it came to be. In fact

The StellarDrive 6R ULTRA™ took 18 months of development in our Mount Reference Program (running since 2017), with 4 different prototypes, in the UK, USA, and Norway. In less than 6 months of launch, it now accounts for a third of the EQ6's we rebuild, new BTO or your pre-owned one. It's the ultimate expression of a performance mount in a very affordable package. 

It can track smoother than a harmonic drive mount. Not our words, but a customer test. Again, data driven.

Featuring our proven StellarDrive SPX™ worm-gears, repolished gear rings and casting internals, pulleywheels and heat-treated axis bearings, the only things we don't touch in the drivetrain are the motors and the motherboard.

The main difference between the StellarDrive™ 6R and the 6R ULTRA, are the lapped and hobbed gear rings, which is an 18 hour operation. It can also be tuned to your paticular climate range, to be operated with any given payload from -15ºC to +30ºC. We have data to base this on.

It's then run in for 100+ hours. Only then it is tested, and retested before sign-off.
Like all our built to order mounts, they come with a full two year worldwide (return-to-base-warranty).

This is quite probably the only mount you'll ever need... Unless it's a StellarDrive X™ 6R, of course.
