The QHY5L-II Colour is an advanced CMOS camera, used for Planetary imaging applications, which can also be used for Auto-Guiding and basic Deep Sky imaging as well as Video Astronomy (Electronic Observing) with the software provided.
Unlike older CMOS technologies the QHY5L-II has no fixed pattern noise, and there’s no random horizontal noise.
This camera has high FPS performance: up to 200 fps @ 320 x 240 with a quantum efficiency (QE) of 63%.

The camera is available as a kit in a handy storage box with USB & ST4 Cables, 1.25″ Extension (threaded for filters), 1.25″ Parfocalising Ring. Instructions and a software / driver Mini-CD are provided for Windows 7 & 8 32/64 bit and updates can be downloaded when available. Software includes Planetary, Guiding, Deep Sky and stacking programs.
Linux and Mac OS support is present and evolving rapidly.
The camera is directly supported by PHD, MetaGuide, Firecapture, SharpCap and software using the ASCOM platform.
UFOCapture and HandyAvi can even capture images of meteor trails automatically, while you sleep!
Lenses, a tripod adapter and many other accessories are available separately.
